Luis Suárez Miramontes, Barcelona and Spain legend, has reportedly died at the age of 88.
Miramontes had died on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
The ex-Inter Milan midfielder had been considered one of the greatest Spanish footballers of all-time and had been the only Spanish male Ballon d’Or winner.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan has grieved the loss of their former star and manager in a statement released via the club website on Sunday morning.
The statement partly read:
“Saying goodbye to Luisito (Mirontes nickname) leaves us with a deep sorrow: the nostalgia of his perfect and one-of-a-kind football, which in inspired generations of fans, joins the memory of a distinctive footballer and a great, great Inter player.”
FC Barcelona had also mourned the legend in a tweet.
Barca had written, “Football legend. Barça legend.253 games and 141 goals. We will really miss you. Rest in peace, Mr Luis Suárez Miramontes.”
