Things didn’t go as planned for Barcelona, as Real Madrid thrashed Barca 3-1 in the 250th EL Classico, taking them to the top of the la Liga table, which makes it Barca’s first league defeat of the season.
Karim Benzema, Balon D’or nominee, scored the first goal, putting Madrid in the lead 12 minutes into the first half. Federico Valverde scored another goal for Madrid to double their lead in the 35th minute.
Barcelona managed to score a consolation goal, after Ferran Torres netted the ball into the goal as he received an assist from Robert Lewandowski, with just Seven minutes to the end of the game. Rodrygo sealed the win for Madrid as he scored another goal through a penalty.
Real Madrid is currently leading the La Liga table after they remain unbeaten in all their games
