Noni Madueke shone brightly as Arsenal dismantled Leeds United 4-0 at Elland Road, thereby extending their unbeaten record in their last eight Premier League games against the Whites to eight consecutive wins.

Before the match, Arsenal had to make a last-minute switch after Bukayo Saka got injured during the warm-up. Madueke, who was brought in the starting XI, took little time to impact the game. Leeds started very aggressively and nearly caught Arsenal by surprise when Ethan Ampadu shot over in the early stages, but the visitors gradually took control.

Arsenal’s continuous pressing through set-pieces finally yielded a goal in the 27th minute, when Martin Zubimendi jumped highest to head in Madueke’s cross. The winger was a relentless menace, and his balls kept the Leeds backline in a state of confusion, with Karl Darlow deflecting yet another Madueke corner into his own net just before half-time.

Leeds played with more determination after the break, but Arsenal went down the other end to score in the 69th minute. Viktor Gyokeres connected with Gabriel Martinelli’s accurate cross to finally score after a goal drought. Late in the game, substitute Gabriel Jesus coolly finished the ball to complete the rout.

Arsenal, who failed to win in their last two league games, are now seven points ahead of their closest rivals at the top, whereas Leeds fell to their first loss in four matches and are just six points above the relegation ‍‌‍‍‌places.
