The Ogun State Police have arrested Dada Taiwo, a 35-year-old man, for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s brother, Damilola Momoh. This incident took place in the Agbado area of Ogun State during a heated argument over a borrowed phone. According to reports, Taiwo used a bottle to stab Momoh in the neck, causing severe injuries. Momoh was immediately rushed to Overcomer Hospital in Agbado for urgent medical treatment.
The altercation and subsequent stabbing were reported to the police by Taiwo’s girlfriend, Olaife Momoh. She went to the Agbado Division to inform them of the violent dispute between her boyfriend and her brother. Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the arrest and provided details about the incident.
Odutola explained that the incident occurred on July 21st at around 2 a.m. at Olaife Momoh’s residence on Sowemimo Street, Akera, Agbado. The argument between Taiwo and Damilola Momoh escalated quickly, leading to the violent act. Following the stabbing, the victim was taken to Overcomer Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. The police have launched an investigation to gather more information and ensure that justice is served.
In her statement, Odutola highlighted the dangers of uncontrollable anger and the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully. She urged the public, especially young people, to report any disputes to the nearest police station rather than resorting to violence. “Uncontrollable anger can lead to a death sentence if, without caution, someone is killed,” Odutola warned.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident to determine the full circumstances and bring those responsible to justice. This case serves as a stark reminder of the need for conflict resolution and the role of law enforcement in maintaining peace and safety within the community.
