Manchester City has emerged triumphant in the FA Cup final, defeating Manchester United 2-1 and moving one step closer to an extraordinary treble. Ilkay Gundogan’s impressive brace played a pivotal role in securing the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

With this win, Manchester City have already achieved a domestic double, adding the FA Cup to their Premier League title. Their remarkable journey is far from over as they now have their sights set on achieving a historic feat: becoming just the second team, after Manchester United in the 1998/99 season, to win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League in a single campaign. The final hurdle awaits them in the Champions League final against Inter Milan on June 10, where they will aim to become European champions for the first time.

The FA Cup final witnessed a moment of sheer brilliance when Ilkay Gundogan scored the fastest goal in the history of the competition, finding the back of the net after a mere 12 seconds. United managed to level the score in the 33rd minute through Bruno Fernandes’ successful penalty kick, awarded after a controversial handball call against Jack Grealish. However, it was Gundogan who had the final say, volleying home the winning goal just six minutes into the second half.

Manchester City now stands on the precipice of matching an unparalleled achievement in English club football history. With only Inter Milan standing in their way, the stage is set for an epic showdown in Istanbul.
