Manchester United want £60m for Marcus Rashford to go this summer with initial reports claiming Aston Villa could get the winger for £40m after his loan spell.
Rashford had arrived at Villa on loan in January due to a rift with United boss Ruben Amorim. Since arriving at Villa Park, the England international has registered four assists in nine league appearances under Unai Emery.
The specific terms of Rashford’s loan arrangement are unclear, with no official announcement yet of a purchase option. But and new reports by The Star claim United have increased their valuation to £60m following Rashford’s impressive league displays.
That rules out Rashford’s return to Old Trafford, with his fractious relationship with Amorim seemingly beyond repair. A permanent exit became inevitable following the Portuguese coach’s public criticism of Rashford’s work rate earlier this season.
United will be looking to raise funds ahead of what is likely to be a reconstruction job in the summer with Amorim keen on several additions The club have been linked with the likes of RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz, Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha and Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff.
United also want to bolster defence and attack as Amorim conducts a squad overhaul to fit his tactical ideology.
