Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reaffirmed the team’s goal of a top-four finish in the Premier League, with tonight’s clash against Brighton as precedent. Maresca also urged supporters to be patient following the high expectations of them saying: “There’s great responsibility.
“The fans are 100 percent right and accurate,” Maresca said. He pointed out that the present Chelsea team is rebuilding and not yet capable of the simultaneous quad of competitions like some previous squads.
Maresca assured supporters that the club is on the right track and will compete for titles in the coming years.
“There is a level of ambition in us all,” he continued. “We aim to return this club to its competitive best, but this takes time.” We need to go step by step.”
