Understanding Myiasis, the Parasitic Infection Caused by Fly Larvae
Myiasis is defined as a parasitic infection that occurs when fly larvae, specifically screwworm larvae in this context, infest open wounds or sores on a living host. These larvae then feed on the living tissue of the host, causing damage and potential complications if left untreated.
