At least 16 chief commanders of the Boko Haram sect have been eliminated by airstrikes organized by the Nigerian Air Force -NAF, Super Tucano fighter jet in Banki, the border region of Bama local government area, Borno State.
The airstrikes which had been carried out against the terrorists on November 16 and 17 respectively, had been an intelligence-led aerial and ground-coordinated military operation by troops in the border areas with Cameroon.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, had yesterday, in Maiduguri, reported that the terrorists suffered a huge loss as many of its leaders in the axis were taken out.
