The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has blamed the collapse of the national grid to a fire outbreak on the Kainji-Jebba 330 kilovolt (kV) course.
Adelabu had made this disclosure through a series of posts he made on X, on Thursday, September 14, remarking that the fire had led to a loss of about 356.63 Mega Watts.
For the first time in over a year, the national grid suffered a complete system collapse.
Adelabu while giving the update had said that the fire has been completely stopped, and that more than half of the connections had been restored, as at the time of making the post.
Adelabu had additionally, said that the delay in giving an update was to discuss on making sure that economic and security saboteurs did not take advantage of the said situation.
