Mohamed Salah has been summoned to appear in person at an Egyptian court next month over a civil case filed by a former lawyer who is claiming payment for legal and administrative services.

The New Cairo Court of First Instance scheduled a hearing date of September 6, 2026, for a case filed by a lawyer, Amr Farag Allah Morsi Abdel Tawab, against the Trabzonspor striker.

The lawyer said Salah owed him fees for legal, administrative and advisory work, and expenses which he accumulated on legal files which he dealt with for the football player on his behalf.

Documents submitted in court state that the dispute centers on a general power of attorney dated 2012, which the lawyer said gave him permission to carry out legal procedures for the player, which was valid up until August 2025.

The player’s lawyer reportedly removed him from being the representing lawyer then, but the court requires Salah to take a decisive oath about his alleged denial of whether the lawyer conducted services to Salah and whether Salah owes him money.

There may be implications for the case if the player does not show up to court or refuses to take the oath without an accepted legal excuse.

Salah is due to be in Turkey playing for his new club Trabzonspor on September 6, the day of the hearing, when he is due to compete in a football match against Genclerbirligi.
