The Pan Nigerian President of Igbo Extraction Coalition, PANPIEC has warned the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and its factions that the multiple sit-at-home orders going on in the Eastern part of Nigeria could deprive the Igbos of the much-coveted 2023 presidency.
This foreboding message was contained in a statement jointly signed on Friday by the group’s Chairman, Rev Obinna Akukwe, and his Secretary, Dr. Pat Anyanwu.
According to PANPIEC, frustrated politicians could choose to use the alleged sit-at-home scheduled on February 24 to scuttle the aspirations for the Igbo presidency and give the impression that the South-East voters were supporting the agitation for a Biafra state.
The statement had partly read:
“PANPIEC advises Simon Ekpa, the Commander of IPOB auto-pilot, to discard his Biafra agitations until after the 2023 elections to enable the teeming Igbo Youth to exercise their civic responsibilities. Igbo cannot be asking for Biafra and Igbo Presidency simultaneously.”
“This is as PANPIEC has received thousands of inquiries from concerned northern voters in the country over the stance of Ndigbo on Biafra and cautions that all the rumors of war are destabilizing the Igbo Presidency Project”, the group stated.
