The 77-year-old final show was held in July 2023, in Stockholm, Sweden as a farewell tour after Glastonbury,
Elton John’s farewell tour had ended early last year, bringing in $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows, and was the highest-grossing music tour in history before Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour overtook and broke that record.
The Era’s tour earned a whopping $1 billion in revenue to surpass Elton John’s record.
What They’re Saying
Elton John was quoted as saying during the tour;
“I got in the car and went, ‘Yes! yes!’ We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there’s no going back [after] that.”
