Nollywood actress and former Big Brother Africa contestant, Beverly Osu, has once again addressed the long-standing rumours of a sex scandal involving her and South African dancer, Angelo Collins, during their time on the reality show in 2013.
In a candid conversation with media host Chude Jideonwo, Osu firmly reiterated that she never had sex with Angelo on the show, despite the widespread assumptions at the time. She disclosed that the controversy had a negative impact on her career, especially during its early phase.
Reflecting on the issue, the actress explained that her bond with Angelo was genuine and deeply rooted in love, which led her to be open and at ease around him—behaviour that was misinterpreted by viewers.
“I have people that love me for who I am. And the highlight of it is that I didn’t do it [have sex on the reality show]. I was 20… I brought out so many things from Big Brother other than that [my relationship with Angelo],” she said.
She continued, “I was so irritated because that was the only thing viewers picked because I was in love. Literally, it was love. All my problems in life come from love.
“Every problem that I have had in this life is because of the greatest gift of God—love. I was madly in love with Angelo. That was why I was free around him. I was dating na, make we tie gele? I was in love with him.”
Beverly had previously blamed public interference for the collapse of her relationship with Angelo, saying contradictory media reports and constant speculation played a major role in their breakup.
“Today, one paper will say Beverly is with this man, tomorrow, another paper will say another thing, I don’t know,” she said.
