The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has stated that the demands being made and the ultimatum issued by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARDS to the Federal Government were ridiculous.
According to Ngige, the Federal government had given the doctors everything they wanted so this present demand and their sense of entitlement was just too much.
Recall that NARD had on Saturday, April 29, given the Federal Government of Nigeria two weeks to meet its demands or face industrial action.
Their demands are an immediate increment in the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure to the tune of 200 percent of the current gross salaries of doctors.
Meanwhile, NARD has reacted to Ngige’s statement and harsh words saying that every association deserved the right to ask for a salary increment.
