Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has confirmed an attack on her family house in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State. She raised the alarm in a statement released on Thursday by her media team in Abuja. According to her, armed men raided and vandalised her grandfather’s house on Tuesday. She said the attackers believed she was in town and tried to ambush her. Luckily, security agents and local residents stopped the attack.

The senator said the house was not empty when the unknown gunmen arrived. Her younger brother had earlier visited with some contractors to inspect project sites. She said the attackers may have thought she was the one visiting.
“Two days ago, my younger brother took some contractors to my hometown in Ihima to inspect locations for upcoming projects that I attracted to my senatorial district. The unknown gunmen assumed I was the one in town and attacked my family’s house that night,” the statement read.
She added that the civil defence and local vigilantes responded quickly.
“Thankfully, the civil defence team and community members responded promptly and chased them off. A report was made to the police area command, and no one was hurt,” she said.
