Students of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN have rejected the sudden and significant hike in their tuition.
The students had taken to social media to complain about the move, asking the school to reverse the hike or in their own words, ‘expect the mother of all protests’.
They had also described the tuition fee increase by the management of NOUN as ill-considered and outrageous while insisting on a total reversal.
“With utmost humility, we write the general public on behalf of a coalition of others concerned to make known the sentiments and pains of the students of the National Open University of Nigeria over the recently communicated memo stating an outrageous increment in school for a degree and postgraduate students of the University,” a statement issued on Monday, December 2 and jointly signed by some students’ leaders in the institution reads.
