The Abia State government has promised to investigate the death of Emmanuel Onyeomereneche, an Abia-born Cadet Officer who was discovered dead in the swimming pool of the Hotel Royal Damgrate, last week.
While addressing the people of Okwuta-Ibeku, Umuahia North LGA who came to protest the death of their son, the Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Security Matters, Navy Commander Macdonald Uba (Rted), stated that investigations would be thoroughly carried out, in order to get to the root cause of the officer’s death.
The SA had warned that anyone found guilty in the Cadet officer’s death would definitely be brought to book.
On the other hand, the Special Adviser extolled the aggrieved protesters for not taking matters into their hands, urging them to remain law-abiding and making assurances that the outcome of the investigation would be revealed to them in due time.
The protesters who scattered palm fronds in front of Damgrete hotel, had eventually marched through Ikot Ekpene road, BCA road before trooping to the Abia State House of Assembly.
