A shipment containing illegal psychoactive substances disguised as green tea has been intercepted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The deceptive packaging was designed to conceal the true nature of the contents and avoid detection by authorities.
On Sunday, NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, shared details of the bust on X (formerly Twitter), urging Nigerians to remain cautious.
He explained that while the package appeared to be a regular green tea import on the outside, the actual contents were harmful psychoactive drugs.
In his post, Babafemi warned, “This consignment is a green tea import in packaging and on the outside but if you drink it, you may lose your mind because the real and undisclosed content is psychoactive substances as discovered by #ndlea_nigeria officers in one of our latest seizures. Shine your eyes.”
His message highlights the dangers posed by such disguised shipments and serves as a reminder for the public to stay vigilant against potentially harmful substances.
