American rap star Nicki Minaj has initiated legal action against Nigerian social media personality Dr Penking, accusing him of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The dispute began after the influencer posted an old video of the rapper on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday and accompanied it with a comment suggesting that the music star should step away from the spotlight.
“Nicki Minaj should understand that she has gotten old and retire,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

Reacting to the upload, Minaj questioned whether the influencer had obtained permission to share the clip, stating that the footage was recorded years ago. She also accused him of using the video as a means to harass her on social media.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harrass me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit,” the rapper wrote.
With the statement, the award-winning artist indicated that the influencer has now been included in a legal case concerning the alleged unauthorised use of her content and online harassment. Further details about the lawsuit have yet to be disclosed.
