The Nigerian Army is accused of abusing Lance Corporal Philomena Nnamoko for wanting to quit due to health issues. The Enugu State native, with force number 09 NA/64/5618, said her request was refused. She said she was locked in the guardroom for four weeks and was refused access to cantonment commanders. Nnamoko was imprisoned for two weeks at the Mowe Barracks Cantonment in Ibadan after her injuries were found by a civilian working there. She stated, “I was demoted and locked up multiple times for offenses I did not commit.”
They have been tormenting and threatening me since 2017. The Nigerian Army’s 81 Division spokesman denied knowledge of the issue but suggested that the victim see him about the situation.
