Hajiya Aisha Ahmad, a Nigerian woman, has been reported dead in Makkah.
The native of Nasarawa State reportedly passed away on Tuesday while participating in the 2022 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Abdul Razak said the occurrence was confirmed and that the deceased was buried in the Al-haram burial site on Tuesday after Asr prayer.
Aisha passed away after a brief illness, according to Mallam Idris Ahmad Almakura, Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, who spoke to the press in Makkah on Wednesday.
The woman was transferred to the King Abdulaziz Hospital in Makkah before she passed away, according to the head of the Nasarawa State pilgrims.
Meanwhile, thirty Nigerians were detained by the Saudi Arabian police about two months ago for displaying Bola Tinubu’s campaign poster in the Kaaba, the holiest mosque in Islam. Tinubu is the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress.
Further reports indicated that the incident occurred before the Eid-El-Fitr (Sallah) celebration. The security personnel is said to have detained the Nigerians while they were walking around the Kaaba with Tinubu’s posters.
According to Murtala Adamu Jega, a witness who talked with a respondent, “I’m a witness; I saw them lift Bola Tinubu’s posters at the holy Kaaba.
“This is despicable. Instead of them devout precious time to pray for peace to return to our country, 30 men made a mockery of our nation by lifting a politician’s posters in the holy place. Thank God, Saudi authorities were swift to have arrested them right there and then.”
