The Nigeria Labour Congress, –NLC, has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to quickly address the current cash shortage in the country to assuage the hardships on its citizens.
Mr Joe Ajaero, the NLC President, who made this announcement on Tuesday via a statement had said that the congress was much concerned about the recent cash shortage that had plagued the Nigerian economy, especially in light of the festive season.
According to him, the economic crisis bedevilling the nation had far-reaching inferences for the citizens.
Ajaero further alleged that the ill-planned and ill-implemented currency redesign policy of the Buhari government caused the previous cash scarcity as seen on February 2023.
He bemoaned that Nigerians were now spending more time looking for cash which undermines the confidence placed in the Nigerian banking system by the citizens.
