Charged to court immediately, to be remanded in DSS custody till July 26
Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday, June 27.

The Attorney General of the federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN) made this known to journalist on Tuesday.
According to the Attorney General the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and the INTERPOL.
The minister of Justice informed newsmen that Kanu would be taken to the Federal High Court to continue his trial on charges relating to terrorism, unlawful possession of firearms, treasonable felony and management of an unlawful society.

Kanu who fled Nigeria in 2017 while on bail has been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja bearly 15 minutes after his arrest disclosure by the Attorney General.
Trial Justice Binta Nyako granted the remand application brought to it by the Federal Government and ordered that Nnamdi Kanu should remain in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, till July 26 when his trial will resume.
