The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has admitted to fuel supply and distribution problems in parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) but has assured that they are working to restore normalcy.
As protests loom, Nigerians have yet another reason to voice their frustrations. Since Tinubu took office, the country has faced one petrol crisis after another, making it a monthly ordeal.
“The NNPC Ltd. acknowledges that the fuel supply issues in some areas of Lagos and the FCT are due to a glitch in the discharge operations of a few vessels,” stated Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL, on Saturday.
“The Company is working tirelessly with all stakeholders to resolve the issue and return operations to normal,” he added.
NNPCL’s statement comes as long queues and rising fuel prices plague various parts of the country. The situation is only getting worse.
