A Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission, NPC, in Bayelsa State, Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo, has allegedly been abducted by gunmen in the state of Bayelsa.
According to reports, it was gathered that Mrs. Izonfuo, a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State was abducted at the Ogbakiri junction on the East-West Road at around 6 p.m., on Sunday, while she was en route to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from a trip to Brass in Bayelsa State.
The gunmen had reportedly, additionally taken her driver and maid in the kidnapping spree and are currently demanding the sum of N5 million ransom for their release.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed the incident, revealing that the Commissioner of Police has ordered tactical teams to ensure the release of the victims as soon as possible.
