The National University Commission, NUC has awarded licenses to 37 new private universities, making it 147 licensed private universities in the country and a total number of 267 universities in the country, including government-owned institutions.
This announcement had been made by Abubakar Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of the NUC, in the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The National University Commission, NUC had however, charged the owners of the different citadels of learning, in the country to compete with global best practices.
