Christy Uba, the Acting Director General of the National Youth Service Scheme paid a visit to the family of the late Oluwole Adetiran, who composed the National Youth Service Scheme Anthem.
Oluwole Adetiran composed the NYSC Anthem while he was serving at the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo state in 1984. And has been used ever since.
Eddy Megwa, the director, of press and public relations in a statement released on Friday concerning the visit.
According to her, the anthem is an embodiment of all the virtues needed by the Nigerian youth.
Megwa said, “She added that the NYSC anthem is a wake-up call to national consciousness, selfless service, national unity, and integration among corps members.
Uba assured the family that they’ll continue to visit the family even though Oluwole is dead.“Uba prayed for the repose of late Dr. Oluwole Adetiran, adding that the NYSC would always associate with the family.”
