Peter Obi’s supporters disobeyed a police order not to hold a rally at the Lekki toll gate. Peter Obi is the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
On Saturday, October 1, the “Obidients,” or sympathizers, were spotted in large numbers as they marched along the Lekki-Epe Expressway while yelling “Obi! Obidient!”
A Twitter user named @Nkemchor shared a video and wrote, “The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”
Using the court order that forbade it as justification, the Lagos State Police Command issued a warning against holding any sort of gathering at the Lekki Toll gate on Friday.
Twitter users who posted photographs claimed that the event appeared to be taking place in other areas of Lagos, such as Festac Town, Surulere, and Ikeja.
