Martin Ødegaard struck the winner to ensure Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium and preserve their winning start to the Premier League season
The visitors stunned Arsenal after just two minutes when Morgan Rogers volleyed home from chaos following a free-kick to become the first Premier League side to score within the opening five minutes of each of their three league matches this season.
However, Arsenal responded vigorously, and while Bukayo Saka saw a strike saved, Kai Havertz eventually equalised with his fifth Arsenal goal to become the first former Chelsea striker to score for Arsenal at Chelsea before or after the move in all their Premier League games after pouncing on a poor clearance from visiting substitute keeper Emiliano Martinez at the end.
With the game evenly contested, Pedro Neto’s shot came back off the post on a counter-attack following a poor pass from Havertz.
The Gunners finished the comeback 16 minutes after the turnaround when Ødegaard arrived in the box to tuck away a through-ball as Havertz cleverly left the ball roll across him. Chelsea looked for an equaliser late on, but David Raya had to be at his best for an amazing late stop against Substitute Estvao.
It was Arsenal’s third straight win to start the season, extending their unbeaten home league run against Chelsea to 12 matches. Chelsea still to concede a goal in 19 league games
