Micheal Ogundele, a 35 years old Ogun state Indigene has been arrested by men of Ogun state police Command for Allegedly shooting and injuring his younger sister’s boyfriend in Idi Iroko, in the Opokia LGA of the state.
This information was released by the Police spokesperson of the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement, According to Oyeyemi, the community leader, Alpha Akeem lodged a complaint to the police, and men of the divisional police immediately arrested the Suspect
On interrogation, the Suspect revealed that the victim was in a relationship with his younger sister which he did not approve and had severally warned the victim to stay clear from his sister, on the day of the incident, someone informed him that the victim was in his sister’s room sleeping,
So in anger he picked up a dane gun, and went to his sister’s room, the victim on seeing that he had a gun with him tried to escape through the window but was however shot by the suspect.
Fortunately, the victim survived as he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have warned the victim to desist from dating his younger sister but refused.
On a fateful day, he got information that the victim was sleeping in his sister’s room and he went there with a Dane gun.
“On getting there, the victim jumped out from the window to escape the likely consequence when he was shot by the suspect.
“The victim was quickly rushed to General Hospital, Idi-Iroko where he is currently responding to treatment.”
Lanre Bankole, the State Commissioner of police has ordered that the case be transferred to the Homicide department of the Criminal Investigation Department, for proper investigation and prosecution.
Seeing that he already confessed to the crime, he might be liable for culpable homicide.
