When we celebrate women in Power, we don’t just celebrate them for their beauty, but also due to their outstanding achievement as pacesetters for other women, and it’s a beautiful thing to see women navigate sectors that were originally male-dominated.
One beautiful woman whose name will continually remain relevant in Nigeria is Chioma Ajunwa, Ajunwa didn’t just write her name in the history of Nigeria, she also wrote her name in the history of Africa as she was the first Nigerian to win gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atalanta, but was also the first black African woman to win an Olympic gold medal in a field event.
Since retiring from sports Chioma became a police officer and on Thursday she was decorated as Deputy Commissioner of Police.
