The fabulous Omar Marmoush has been announced as the fan-voted winner of the extraordinary 2025 Guinness Goal of the Season after a goal he scored against the AFC Bournemouth side on the 20th of May.
The Egyptian forward was the one who gave Manchester City their first goal in the 14th minute of the 37th Premier League game of the season with a stunning 30-yard strike. Gathering the ball from just inside Bournemouth’s half in the 14th minute, Marmoush ran to the front before kicking the ball high and lowering it to the far corner of the goal, which struck the inside of the post et voila, the keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was beaten in a breath.
His stunning goal drove Manchester City to a 3-1 win and made the destination of the Premier League title clearer. The goal that stunned the fans and the experts alike, got Marmoush the most consolidated votes, combining both the public and the panel of football experts.
It was unarguably the best out of a list of candidates, the season’s winners of the Guinness Goal of the Month Awards such as Carlos Baleba, David Brooks, Jens Cajuste, Jhon Duran, Alexander Isak, Nicolas Jackson, Kaoru Mitoma, Cole Palmer, and Harry Wilson.
With this magical Marmoush becomes the first Manchester City player to win the Goal of the Season award, and the second Egyptian after Mohamed Salah’s historic solo effort against City during the 2021/22 season.
