Alex Otti, the Abia State governor has installed 17 local government transition council chairpersons.
He had also charged them to develop programs that align with the restructuring plans of the government.
Otti had chided the newly inaugurated officers to prioritize the security and welfare of the Abia State people. This was so they could direct the affairs of the local government councils.
Otti had said this during a speech at the swearing-in ceremony at the Michael Okpara Auditorium in Umuahia.
The Mayor of Umunochi LGA, Chief Ndubuise Ike, had for his part, made assurances to reinforce the security outfit in the towns and villages.
Thereafter, the governor in the company of his cabinet members met with the Bank of Industry (BOI) management. They were led by Mr. Usen Effiong, the Executive Director of Corporate Services, who paid a business visit to him.
The main topic of discussion during the visit of the delegation was on how the Otti administration would gainfully engage the people.
The salient points were to reduce hardship, hunger and reposition Abia State as a leading State in the country.
