Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially announced his plan to run for president in the 2027 elections.
Governor Makinde made this announcement during a meeting with the press team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan, where he also showed off some of his administration’s major projects in the southwest states.
His supporters have started rallying behind him, using the hashtag #MakindeForPresident on social media.
The PDP’s official social media accounts have also backed Governor Makinde’s presidential campaign, sharing pictures and videos of his projects with the #MakindeForPresident hashtag.
With a background in both politics and business, Governor Makinde has a lot of experience to offer in the presidential race. His time as governor of Oyo State has seen important improvements in infrastructure and economic growth.
Governor Makinde’s decision to join the 2027 presidential race is expected to bring new energy to the competition.
