The Beginning of a Journey

My first encounter with the name Laju Iren occurred during the closing scenes of a popular Nollywood series, “This is it”.

The show featured interviews with young couples, including Laju Iren and her husband, Pastor Emmanuel Iren. At that time, I had no idea who they were. It wasn’t until my second year at university that a friend introduced me to a captivating YouTube series, “During Ever After”, masterfully produced by Laju Iren.

Unraveling the Identity of Laju Iren

Who is Laju Iren? In her own words, she is “The Lord’s Storyteller, Writer, Filmmaker, and Bestselling Author.” Married to Pastor Emmanuel Aniefiok Iren, a Nigerian preacher and gospel songwriter, the couple shares a rich academic background with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the same university. They tied the knot in November 2014 and are blessed with four children. Laju’s professional journey is equally impressive, having started at Vanguard Newspaper during her National Youth Service Corps program in 2012, which soon led to a full-time role. Amidst her busy schedule, she penned her first book, “Girlcyclopaedia.”

A Beacon in Literature

Laju’s literary prowess is evident, with one of her books reaching #1 on Okada Books in 2020. Her titles consistently top bestselling lists across various platforms. She extends her knowledge through a “Become an Author in 30 Days” course, empowering many to transition from aspiring writers to published authors.

The Filmmaking Side of Laju Iren

Laju’s passion for filmmaking, especially in the faith-based genre, is where I find my greatest interest. Known as “Director Laju (DL)”, she is the founder of Laju Iren Films. Her portfolio includes acclaimed movies like “Love is a Star”, “Nigerian Son”, “During Ever After”, and “Loving Amanda” in 2021.

“Loving Amanda”:

“Loving Amanda”, a 2021 Nigerian romance film, stands out in her career. Produced by Laju and directed by Michael Akinrogunde, this film is based on her novel and showcases the talents of actors like Blossom Chukwujekwu and Teniola Aladese. The film’s virtual premiere was a groundbreaking event, showcasing innovation in the movie industry.

The Essence of Laju Iren

Laju Iren is not just a filmmaker and writer; she is a pastor alongside her husband and a figure of inspiration. Her work is a testament to her faith, creativity, and determination, serving as a significant encouragement to women pursuing their career dreams.

Exciting News for Easter: “Mistakenly Yours”

The anticipation builds as Laju Iren prepares to virtually premiere her latest creation, “Mistakenly Yours,” during the Easter holidays. This film, directed by the award-winning Biodun Stephens, explores the journey of a filmmaker with a promising future and a clergyman with a dark past, forced into an engagement of convenience. As tickets become available on February 1, viewers can expect to be enthralled by a stellar cast, including Stan Nze, Chinoso Arubayi, Olumide Oworu, Tomike, and more.

Laju Iren: A Woman of Many Virtues

Laju Iren, or “PL” as she is affectionately known, embodies faith, grit, and innovation. Her journey is not just about personal achievement but also about paving the way for others.

The Future Awaits

Looking ahead, there is great anticipation for Laju Iren’s movies to hit the cinemas and win awards. Her trajectory is not just a story of success but a beacon of hope and inspiration.

A Reminder for the Easter Holidays

Remember, tickets for “Mistakenly Yours” go on sale from February 1st. Secure yours to add a touch of brilliance to your Easter holidays. Laju Iren’s journey is a reminder that with faith, creativity, and hard work, dreams do come true.
