First, it was Star boy Osimhen and then Joe Aribo and now Paul Onuachu it seems Nigerian players are taking over.
Lazio is desperate for Strikers for the coming season and they have their eyes on Genk’s Paul Onuachu as they harbor the belief that they will climb to the top of Serie A. Taking on Onuachu will boost their attacking power by beating other teams’ defenses based on the records of indelible marks left by Genk player Onuachu last season. The desire to sign this Nigerian striker shows that they are ready for next season.
The price of acquiring Onuachu is said to be steep as the sum could cost Lazio a deep hole. Genk is ready to release Onuachu to Lazio provided they have agreed to pay £30m. With Genk also going through a cash crisis, this could lead them to sell one or two of their players and also cut the salaries of the other team players. And selling Onuachu could be an answer to their money woes, provided Lazio is willing to pay the agreed price.
Despite Onuachu’s performance, he has yet to join the ranks of Nigeria’s top strikers like Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Emmanuel Dennis.
