On Sunday, the senator who represents Osun East in the Senate, Senator Francis
Fadahunsi, urged for the arrest of anyone responsible for damaging his campaign
posters.

On the Peoples Democratic Party platform, Fadahunsi, who now represents the
Senatorial District, is running for re-election.

The destruction of the campaign materials was allegedly ordered by Mr. Ajibola
Famurewa’s supporters, who are running for the East Senatorial Seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, according to a statement issued by Sam Segun-
Progress on behalf of the Fadahunsi media office and obtained in Osogbo on Sunday.

However, Mr. Isaac Olufemi, a member of the Famurewa Campaign Organization Media team, denied the claim when reached for comment. He claimed that those pasting APC candidate posters were attacked by some security personnel associated with Fadahunsi.

He claimed that Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, had previously received a petition from Famurewa asking him to look into the involvement of some of his personnel in the incident.

He said that information about the three security personnel who carried out the attack in Ilesa’s Imo Area on January 10 and worked for Fadahunsi was included in the petition, which urged the IGP to carry out a comprehensive investigation and punish the attackers.
