The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, has recommenced proceedings on the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, disputing the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential elections.
Let’s recall that Tinubu of the present ruling party in the country, APC, had been declared the winner of the keenly contested presidential elections when most citizens of the country had been asleep.
This had been one of the bone of contention with Nigerian citizens who were of the opinion that the winner of election shouldn’t have been sneakily announced if the elections had been held free and fair.
One of the political parties disgruntled by the APC and the INEC is the PDP and they have since approached the tribunal to repeal Tinubu’s victory through the court.
As at the time of filing this report, the main opposition party has summoned 26 witnesses to prove its case.
