Furious women demonstrating over the fallout of the recent killings in certain communities in Plateau State, on Friday, have razed down the residence of the District Head of Bokkos town, Michal Monday Adanchi.
Bakkos town, in Bokkos Local Government Area, is one of the grievously attacked communities where massive killings took place.
It was reported that the district head’s house was set on fire around 12:30pm on Friday.
This was after the protesting women were enraged by the arrest of some members of the community, for their reported involvement in the killings.
An eyewitness had informed reporters that “the incident began at the police station, where the incensed women expressed their anger over the apprehension of certain members of the community”.
“After they left the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, remonstrating that he was a sellout and soon after, they set the house ablaze.”
The violent nature of the protest led to the arrival of soldiers who broke up the protesting women.
Recall that the state police command confirmed the arrest of eight people who were allegedly connected to the attacks.
