Poland is edging closer to a decision regarding the implementation of enhanced border controls along its boundary with Slovakia, as part of measures aimed at curbing the influx of immigrants. A government spokesperson conveyed this information on Monday, as reported by the state-run news agency PAP.
Piotr Muller, speaking to private broadcaster Polsat News, stated, “We must deliberate upon the necessity of introducing supplementary protective measures along the Polish-Slovak border… We are also assessing the potential patterns of immigration originating from the Italian island of Lampedusa.”
He further emphasized, “We are actively exploring options to fortify security along these routes.”
The consideration of stricter border controls underscores Poland’s commitment to managing immigration and safeguarding its borders in response to evolving challenges.
