The Borno State Police Operatives in Maiduguri have arrested and detained a sheep together with her two lambs following a complaint that it ate someone’s pile of fried fish displayed for sale in the market.

This happened at Bulabulin Ward in the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council on Saturday, November 5. The sheep and her lambs were still detained as of early Sunday morning according to sources.

Yusuf Ibrahim, a fish vendor in the neighborhood and the owner of the fish that was eaten by the sheep had complained to the Bulabulin Divisional Police.

Additionally, Ibrahim had been complaining that the sheep had been a terror to him for several years.

Meanwhile, the sheep’s owner, Luba Mohammed – a housewife, had cried out over the situation, saying that she was unaware that the sheep had developed a liking for fried fish.

Mohammed has already pleaded for mercy from Ibrahim, promising to either sell, leash or slaughter the offending sheep if it was released.
