Police Arrest Six Suspected Robbers Terrorising Lagos Community.

Lagos may the center of excellence, but it’s one of the centre of crimes in Nigeria, due to the population of the state several criminal activities thrives in the state, and the police have to be on alert to arrest criminals accused of perpetrating evil in the state, and the citizens too to endure that these criminals are arrested on time.

Six Suspected members of two armed robbery gangs, were apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for robbing innocent citizens of their possessions within the axis of Ajegunle and Alaba-Rago areas of the state they have been unleashing terror on the residents in the area.

This was revealed by the State Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Saturday, According to him, they were able to recover a motorcycle, one locally made gun, and some expensive Android phones, he further confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court at the end of their investigation.

According to the statement, they were able to apprehend the suspects after conducting serious investigations into several complaints by the citizens of armed robbery activities in the area.

He said, “Detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested six armed robbers belonging to two different gangs, notorious for dispossessing unsuspecting victims of their valuables within Ajegunle and Alaba-Rago areas of the state.

The arrest followed swift investigations into reports of activities of the robbers in the areas. The suspects, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, 21, Chukwuebuka Innocent, 24, Umaru Isah, 21, Emmanuel Ita, 19, Olayitan Ayinde, 18, and Moshood Ayinde, 25, were arrested in different areas of the state, while efforts are being intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the gangs and recover other weapons.

“One unregistered TVS motorcycle, one locally-made gun, one Infinix Note 7, and one iPhone 7 were recovered from the suspects. The suspects will be arraigned at the end of the investigation.”

Benjamin also said that the police are still trailing other members of the gang, which ran away, Idowu Owohunwa the State Commissioner of Police has urged all Lagosians to be on alert, and to be Security conscious.

Arresting of armed robbers within the state is no news as every single day there is news of criminal activities in Lagos State due to its population. Lagos is deemed to be a place where one dream is met, so every single day, people are trooping in and out of Lagos to meet their dreams, where it be ones impossible to meet these dreams in Lagos, some people resort to criminal activities to have the wealth they so desire.
