The Ajilari Cross area in Maiduguri is home to six projectile grenades that were allegedly left behind by terrorists, according to the Borno Police Command.
The missiles were found on Friday, according to the state’s commissioner of police, Mr. Yusuf Lawal, who made this revelation on Saturday while giving a status report to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri.
Lawal stated that personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Device (EOD), Base 13, were dispatched to the area to analyse the grenades and discovered that they were made with incendiary materials.
He stated that the damaged area was properly checked, and the projectiles were recovered intact, making the region safe.
“In a separate incident, 20 people were apprehended in Maiduguri for burning tires and causing disruptions.”They are currently under interrogation and investigation for transparent prosecution,” he informed us. Lawal revealed that another violent event took place on the same day in Bassam Galomari Village, Gubio II Ward, Gubio Local Government Area.
According to him, Fulani herders with cows allegedly approached the farm of a local homeowner, resulting in a conflict. Lawal stated,
“The farm owner attempted to remove the herdsmen from his property, but they resisted, and one of the Fulani men attacked the farmer, cutting both of his hands.” “The victim was rushed to Gubio Hospital, where he was referred to Maiduguri for further treatment.”
In order to address the situation and try to find a solution, he continued, the security authorities have been given instructions. Lawal stated that in order to uphold public safety and stop more events, the security forces have remained on high alert.
