The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has denied the claims of a plan by terrorists to attack and kidnap students from the University of Abuja campus.
From reports gathered, it was found that there has been tension on the campus following the rumour circulating on online platforms.
The FCT Command had released a statement by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, tagging the reports as “nothing but baseless publications fuelled by rumour mongers whose aim was to create unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and university community.”
“The Command hereby reiterates its commitment to securing and safeguarding the lives and property of residents in the FCT as adequate deployment of personnel and equipment have been implemented to enhance the security situation within the FCT, which includes the University of Abuja, ” the statement further read.
