Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State command, had on Tuesday, February 14, foiled alleged gunmen’s attempt to abduct 15 National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, members at Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the corps members who had just finished their three-week orientation program in Imo State had been traveling to Lagos State when they were abducted at a fueling station.
“The gunmen hijacked their vehicle and diverted it to Isseke, Ihiala-Orlu expressway where the corps members had been held hostage,” a source had revealed.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident via a statement stated that the corps members had been released through the persevering efforts of police operatives.
