Nigerian street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has expressed frustration over what he described as poor earnings from music streaming platforms despite his consistent releases.
In a recent video shared online, the “Zazu” crooner revealed that his income from Apple Music has been disappointing, even though he drops new songs regularly and has a growing international fanbase.
“I am in pain, I have been putting my song on Apple Music every month but the money I am generating is too low,” he said.

Portable questioned why his global listeners are not translating into higher revenue, noting that he has supporters not just in Nigeria but across other countries, including the United States.
“They said it is because Nigerian streams are cheap but I also have fans in America and all over the world. Where is the revenue from those foreign streams?”
The singer went on to appeal directly to veteran music producer Don Jazzy, asking for guidance on how to maximise earnings from digital streaming platforms.
“Don Jazzy, please, help me and teach me how to generate more money from music streams. I have Apple
“Music account but the revenue that I receive is very low. They divide my earnings into 17. Please, come and teach me how to fetch music money.”
He added that gaining proper knowledge of streaming revenue could significantly elevate his career, even suggesting it could place him ahead of his peers in the industry.
“If Don Jazzy teach me how to generate more money from streaming platforms, I would be bigger than all artistes in Nigeria.”
