Popular Nigerian controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, is currently berating the just-ended season of Big Brother Naija, stating that the entertainment value is now lost. According to him, this year’s housemates did not create the buzz which the show is known for, and fans are unimpressed.
He took to his Instagram stories, where the self-styled “Zazu” crooner made a bold demand of N100 million from the show’s organisers to revive the excitement for viewers. He wrote, “Big Brother [Naija] no sweet again like before. All these people [housemates] no blow, make them pay me 100m I go use cruise finish them.”
Truly, the latest season of BBNaija really struggled to live up to its hype, with many viewers taking to social media to say it lacked charisma and drama brought into the house by former contestants. Saved by a few moments, the show was generally flat, and energy was not well stirred to keep the fans going.
Personally, I felt this season was more boring than ever. With the economic challenges of the country, it just felt ridiculous getting enthusiastic about a reality show while many people are struggling with basic needs. Why waste data and money to vote when we are not benefiting from it in any meaningful way? The show simply wasn’t hitting the mark this time.
