The Princess of Wales, Kate, had on Tuesday morning, made a personal visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London to express gratitude to the medical staff for their exceptional care and compassion during her cancer treatment.
“The princess wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team and highlight the world-leading care and treatment the Marsden provides.” a Kensington Palace spokesperson revealed.
During her visit, Princess Kate also spoke with cancer patients, offering them her love and support. This visit makes it the princess’s most significant solo royal engagement since completing her cancer treatment.
It has been almost a year since Kate’s health issues were first revealed, with an announcement made in January 2024 that she had undergone abdominal surgery. In March, she announced in a video statement that she was in the early stages of cancer treatment, and in September, she shared that her chemotherapy had ended.
Since finishing her chemotherapy, Kate has gradually been making a return to public events, including attending Remembrance Sunday and her Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey, which were seen as positive signs of her recovery.
This visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital is Catherine’s first major engagement of 2025. She had returned to see the caregivers who helped her at the hospital, –which specializes in cancer treatment and research.
