In a Paris demonstration against police violence on Saturday, there were instances of clashes between protesters and law enforcement, prompting strong condemnation from French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, who labeled the violence as “unacceptable.”
Video footage shared by Paris police chief Laurent Nunez on social media showed a police car in motion being struck with iron bars. Nunez also reported that a bank had become a target during the demonstration.
Darmanin voiced his concerns on social media, writing, “We witness the consequences of anti-police sentiment.”
